Overview of the Photo Tour

Join us as we travel into the heart and soul of Indochina. Starting off in Vietnam, cruise through dramatic karst scenery on a boat tour of Halong Bay, step back into the world of the country’s last emperors in Hue, soak up the old-world charm of Hoi An and be awed by the endless energy of Ho Chi Minh City. In Cambodia, discover the country’s fascinating history and culture in Phnom Penh’s heaving streets and in the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor. Combining highlights of both countries, the Best of Vietnam and Cambodia tour will open your eyes to the delights of Indochina and leave you awe-struck by these magical locations.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1, Dec 15: Arrival Hanoi (-/-/-)

Xin chào! Welcome to Vietnam!

Upon your arrival in Noi Bai International airport in Hanoi, our guide and driver will pick you up at the terminal hall and transfer to your hotel in the Old Quarter for check-in and relax. Briefing of the tour itinerary.

Hotel check-in time: 14.00 PM

The rest of your day free at your own leisure to explore the charming beauty of the Old Quarter.

Overnight in Hanoi.

 

Day 2, Dec 16: Hanoi to Halong Bay (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After breakfast, check out the hotel rooms. Then you will get picked up by private car/guide at your hotel’s lobby. We depart to Halong City (3,5 hour drive) with a short break en-route.  Arrive in Tuan Chau harbor, we board a private boat for a 4 hour cruise in Halong Bay, a world heritage site recognized by UNESCO in 1994.

12:30: Lunch of fresh seafood is served on board while our boat is taking you on an odyssey journey wends among remote archipelagoes via crowd avoidance route and opens up views of one stupendous seascapes after another, passing uninhabited islets and outcrops including Stone Dog, Thumb, Duck, Incense Burner, and Cock Fighting.

14:30: Exploring Ba Hang (Three Cave), there are options to choose either kayaking or taking a bamboo boat rowed by local people, gently glide through water tunnels into secluded sea lagoons.

15.30: Walk up Limestone Mountain to visit Thien Cung Grotto with incredible stalactites and stalagmites.

16.30: Returning aboard for disembark.

Transfer to hotel in Halong City for check in.

Dinner & Overnight in Ha Long.

 

Day 03: Dec 17: Halong – Hanoi – City Tour – Flight to Danang – Transfer to Hoian (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After breakfast, Then proceed back to Hanoi, lunch at local restaurant.

We will visit to Ho Chi Minh’s Former Stilted House, One-Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as Vietnam’s first university, Hoan Kiem Lake. All the places are favourable for photography (landscape/portrait).

Transfer out to airport for flight to Da Nang. Transfer to Hoi An.

Dinner & Overnight in Hoi An.

 

Day 04: Dec 18: Hoian tour – Transfer to Danang (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After breakfast at hotel, we visit to Hoian Ancient town (street photo tour): Tan Ky Ancient House, PhuocKien Assembly Hall, Japanese Bridge.

Lunch at local restaurant, then we will visit to Cham Museum, Marble (Ngu Hanh Son) Mountain.

Proceed to Da Nang.

Dinner & Overnight in Da Nang

 

 

Day 05: Dec 19: Danag – flight to Saigon – Saigon City Tour (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh.

Pick up and transfer to check in hotel, lunch at local restaurant. Then we visit Notre Dame Cathedral – one of the most splendid and typical of the beautiful French-built churches in Ho Chi Minh city, next Municipal Post Office – Saigon’s French-style main post office to admire and take photos of its nice architecture that is one of the Ho Chi Minh City’s symbolizing images, continue to visit War Museum, Reunification Palace.

Dinner & Overnight in Saigon.

 

Day 06: Dec 20: Saigon – Mekong Delta – Saigon (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After breakfast, a two hour drive to My Tho will expose the colorful outskirt life as well as picturesque rice fields along the journey.

Upon arrival, visit to the beautiful VinhTrang pagoda, continue to drive to pier and get on a boat trip up Mekong River stop at Thoi Son Island to visit honey bee-farm, coconut candy workshop.

Then taste seasonal fruits, enjoy traditional folk songs at local people house. Walk along the village to see the authentic life of the local and challenge your bargaining power at cottage handicraft shops.

An adventurous sampan ride in palm shading creeks will be the next experience of the riverside region, for lunch sample the local delicacy, Elephant’s Ear Fish at famous Mekong Rest Stop.

Back to Saigon for dinner.

Overnight in Saigon.

 

Day 07: Dec 21: Saigon – Bus to Phnom Penh – City Tour (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

After breakfast, transfer to Bus station to catch bus to Phnom Penh.

Meet and welcome by our local guide upon arrival at bus station in Phnom Penh. Transfer to have lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon, visit Royal Palace with Silver Pagoda, ToulSleng Genocide Museum and Central Market if time permit.

Dinner at local restaurant.

Overnight at hotel in Phnom Penh

 

Day 08: Dec 22: Saigon – Bus to Phnom Penh – City Tour (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Siem Reap by private van/bus, upon arrival direct for Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon, visit South Gate of Angkor Thom, famous bayon, Angkor Wat temple and sunset at Bakheng Hill (Subject to space availability).

Dinner at local restaurant.

Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

 

Sunset temples:

Angkor Wat temple  -You can spend time waiting for the sunset in many different ways. You can roam around the galleries and see how the Angkor Wat temple bas-relief looks in low light, or see how the sun turns the stones at the second level to a golden color. Then of course there’s that sunset shot again, available from the back of the pond.

 

Phnom Bakheng – With its prime location, Phnom Bakheng is never in need of visitors. The sunset at Phnom Bakheng is so famous that it would seem that all the visitors go to the temple at sunset. If you don’t mind the crowd, do not miss this temple. The view from up there is just spectacular.

 

 

Day 09: Dec 23: Seam Reap – Banteay Srey Tour (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) 

Breakfast, visit to Pre Rup temple, Ta Som, NeakPoan temple, afternoon, visit to BanteaySrey and BanteaySamre temple.

Dinner and overnight in Siem Reap

 

Day 10: Dec 24: Seam Reap – Departure (Breakfast/-/-)

 

Transfer via: International flight – your own arrangement.

Departure time:

Hotel’s check-out time: 12.00 PM

After breakfast at hotel, free day at your own leisure until meeting our driver again, then transfer to the airport for your departure flight back home. Have a safe flight from Hanoi.
